Skin tags, warts and verrucae, sun spots, age spots and some benign moles are very common. People often want them looked at when they catch on clothing, start to change or simply bother them.
We do not diagnose skin cancer. If a lesion has features that need a doctor or dermatologist, we will tell you and advise you to have it checked medically first.
Small raised growths, often on the neck, underarms, hands or feet, that can rub or catch.
Flat brown marks on areas that see the most sun, such as the face, chest and hands.
Some benign moles can be treated. Any mole that is new, changing, bleeding or irregular is referred for medical review.
The £170 appointment
The package covers a close look at the lesion and, if it is suitable for treatment in the clinic, removal with CryoPen. If it is not suitable, we explain why and what to do next.
How CryoPen works
CryoPen delivers a fine jet of liquid nitrogen to the lesion. The cold breaks down the targeted cells while the surrounding skin is largely spared.
Magnified images help us look more closely at a lesion and record how it looks for comparison later. A scan is not a diagnosis.
Over the following days a small blister or scab usually forms, and the lesion gradually falls away as the skin heals.
Your appointment
Every lesion is looked at before any treatment is offered. This part of the visit decides what happens next.
How long you have had it, and whether it has grown, changed colour or shape, itched or bled.
We examine the lesion and, where helpful, scan it to see its surface and edges in more detail.
We tell you whether CryoPen is suitable or whether a doctor or dermatologist should see it first.
Skin blemish removal in London may be considered through Blemishes, Moles & Skin Checks when a visible concern is suitable for treatment. CryoPen is one possible removal method, while some concerns require a different form of medical review rather than clinic treatment.
Removal can help reduce the visibility of a selected blemish when clinical assessment supports treatment. This is an area-specific approach, not a promise that every mole or skin concern can be removed.
Addressing an eligible visible lesion may help the surrounding area look less interrupted by that particular concern. The intended cosmetic change depends on the type of blemish and the removal method selected.
For suitable raised superficial blemishes, removal may reduce the visible projection of the treated lesion. This can help the area look less uneven, without implying a particular healing outcome.
CryoPen uses localised cold to treat selected superficial lesions where appropriate. Its focused action can help address the blemish itself rather than treating the whole surrounding area.
Consultation will clarify whether removal or another next step is appropriate. Book a consultation.
About skin checks
No. We look at the lesion within what a clinic can safely treat. Anything that may need a diagnosis is referred to a doctor.
Only if the lesion is suitable. We decide on the day, and some lesions are better referred for a medical opinion first.
No. CryoPen is used only after we have looked at the lesion, and some lesions need a different route.
The package is listed as First Assessment + Removal. Assessment comes first and removal is included only when the concern is considered suitable for treatment within the clinic.
You can book a skin blemish assessment at our clinic in Belgravia, London. Every appointment starts with a careful review of the area and your history. Removal is only considered if it is clinically appropriate after that assessment, and we explain the method and timing before you decide whether to go ahead.
We can review blemishes, moles and other visible skin concerns that you have noticed. You tell us what has changed and any relevant context, and we look at the area itself. If the concern needs a different form of medical review, we explain this before any treatment is considered, so you know the appropriate next step.
If treatment at the clinic is not advised, we tell you honestly and explain why. Some concerns need a different form of medical review, and we will say so before anything else is discussed. You leave with a clear recommendation on the appropriate next step, whether or not that involves treatment with us.
Come ready to talk about what you have noticed and when it changed. It helps to bring relevant medical history, a list of current medications and photos if the area has changed over time. Please leave the area free of make-up on the day so we can review it clearly. You can book through our appointments page.
Our journal has an article on mole, wart and skin tag removal in London that explains CryoPen in more detail. It is useful background reading before your visit. At the clinic, a method is always selected after your area has been assessed, and we explain it before you decide whether to proceed.
